Description
Envoy of the Secretary-General, in (or for)...
Remark
[+ country name], or for... [+ issue]. A Special Envoy is appointed by the Secretary-General at the ASG or USG level for a shorter period than is the case with a Special Representative. Special Envoys do not normally reside in the region with which they are concerned.
The Secretary-General has the authority to appoint Special Representatives and Special Envoys and informs the Security Council of such appointments, which then takes note of the appointments.
